Are shared licenses safe for my server?
The installer updates license-related components only. It does not wipe accounts, databases, or websites. If activation fails, stop and open a ticket before making more changes.
Is this an official retail license from the vendor?
No. LicenseBoy sells shared licenses: a retail entitlement is used across multiple servers through our licensing system. That is why monthly pricing is lower than buying retail directly.
How fast is activation after payment?
Licenses normally activate automatically right after payment clears. You can then copy the install command from the client area and run it on the server.
How do I install the license?
Open the client area service, copy the one-line install command, and run it as root over SSH. Most servers finish in under a minute. If you prefer, request free install help via ticket.
Can I change the server IP?
Yes, within policy — typically up to 3 free IP changes. Update the IP in the client area, then rerun the install command on the new IP.
Can I change hostname, nameservers, or other settings?
Yes. Hostname, nameservers, DNS, and normal server configuration are unrestricted. Keep the licensed IP correct if the machine moves.
Can I update the software to the latest version?
Yes. Use the product’s normal updater (WHM upcp, LiteSpeed, DirectAdmin, etc.). After major upgrades, rerun our install command if the license check fails.
Do I need to reinstall after a reboot?
No. After the first successful install, the service should survive reboots. After an IP change or OS migration, rerun the install command.
